Whilst my main interest is radio, web design is something that has interested me over the last few years. Since I created the Corinium Radio website in 2006, I have been involved in a number of other websites – either personally designing them, or providing technical support for their owners.

Basic Website
This package is suitable for those perhaps setting up a website for the first time who want an easy to use, low-maintenance website (ie not something that needs to be updated all the time), created with simple HTML pages. I usually design using the HTML editor that comes with the Seamonkey web browser.
Initial Setup: £25 | Hourly Rate: £5
Initial setup includes any meetings which take place before design work starts, creating any graphics, plus the first two hours of designing. Any work which needs to be done after the first two hours of designing is charged at an hourly rate.
Content Management Systems
If you’re looking for a more complicated website – perhaps something that incorporates a blog, the ability for visitors to purchase items, or something that looks that little bit more professional than a basic website might – then this service is best for you.
Content Management Systems, such as WordPress or Joomla, make it easy for you to manage your website – and they even allow a multi-user environment – meaning you can give several people access to different parts of the website (very useful for some companies)!

Domain Name & Web Space
To run any website, you need a domain name and web space.
My personal recommendation is Krystal Web Hosting. They are very professional, offer reasonable prices, and whenever I’ve had a query about something technical (mostly in the early days when I didn’t really understand that much about websites) they’ve always been very helpful in sorting out my problems.
A generic .co.uk domain name plus the Amethyst hosting plan is adequate for most people – you can always upgrade if you need more space at a later date… of course if you don’t want .co.uk you can choose from many others – including .com .net .me.uk (designed for personal websites) or .org.uk (not-for-profit organizations).

Search Engines
I can not guarantee to get you to the top of a Google Search – how Google orders its search results is up to Google. There are ways to help search engines find your site quicker and categorize it properly – but I stress that I am not an expert on search engines.
